Christmas Craft Fairs and Markets – Mid Vancouver Island

Start making that list and checking it twice, for the beginning of November correlates to the start of the many local Christmas Craft Fairs. During November and December, you will have plenty of opportunities to shop locally. Read below for a comprehensive list of holiday fairs and markets found in the Mid-Vancouver Island area.

This list has been updated to reflect the 2018 Craft Fair season.

November 2 – 4

Nanaimo Professional Craft Fair

Location: Beban Park Social Centre – 2300 Bowen Road, Nanaimo

When: November 2 – 4

28 years running! This unique shopping experience is provided by fantastic and creative BC Artisans. With over 70 booths you’ll be sure to find one of a kind gifts for your loved ones.  You will also have a chance to win hourly door prizes. Plus, every entry is entered to win the Grand Prize valued at over $600.00.

Admission: $5.00 includes unlimited re-entry (with stamp) plus a $1.00 “token” to a daily charity of your choice.

Raven Artisan Market

Location: Cumberland Cultural Centre – 2674 Dunsmuir Ave, Cumberland

When: November 3 & 4

Quarterway Craft Fair

Location: Quarterway School – 1632 Bowen Road, Nanaimo

This Craft Fair will be full of vendors from all over Vancouver Island with their handcrafted wares. Also lots of raffle baskets, a bake sale and concession. All proceeds will go towards the children’s learning, play and growth at Quarterway School.

Fall into Winter Craft Fair

Location: Forest Park School – 2050 Latimer Road, Nanaimo

When: Saturday, November 10 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

This craft fair will be filled with a variety of crafters and vendors from around Vancouver Island.  There will also be a few door prizes, plus a bake sale and concession.
All Proceeds will be allocated to the Forest Park PAC, as well as the grade 7 year-end activities.

Admission is free or by a non-perishable food donation, (donated to Loaves and Fishes Food Bank).

So head out and support the school and get yourself or that special someone a little something while you are there!


Kick off the Holidays Market

Location: Wellington Hall – 3922 Corruna Avenue, Nanaimo

When: Saturday, November 10 – 10:00 am – 3:00 pm

Christmas Craft Sale

Location: South Wellington Community Hall – 1555 Morden Road, Nanaimo

When: Saturday, November 10th from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

Shop for locally made unique items perfect for family or friends. You will find crafts, decorations, baking, wood crafts, knitting, sewing, etc. Refreshments are also available.

Knox “Perfect Gift” Christmas Craft Fair

Location: Knox United Church – 345 Pym Street

When: Saturday, November 10 from 9:30 – 3:30

This Fair has become a highly anticipated event in Oceanside for many and is a sign that the Christmas festivities are underway. Last year, close to 2000 eager patrons from Parksville and surrounding communities took advantage of this opportunity to get a head start on their Christmas shopping and entertainment planning.

There will be 80 tables filling 9 rooms of talented vendors providing a multitude of exciting family-orientated products, home-made food items and many unique craft selections for all ages. The enthusiastic vendors come from communities all over Vancouver Island in order to offer a huge variety of “Perfect Gift” possibilities!

Kris Kringle Craft Market

Holiday Collective

It began 9 years ago with All Decked Out.  All Decked Out was founded by Megan Olsen in 2010 and has grown over the years to become a very popular Christmas tradition in the mid-Vancouver Island area.

This year they have a new name, new venue, and a new host, Gaylene Olyniuk. Gaylene has assisted with the past event for four years and is thrilled to be hosting you in 2018 at Holiday Collective.

Friday night is a fun 19+ event featuring some shopping, a cash bar, and swag bags for the first 100 persons through the door. A perfect night out with the girls or even date night!

On Saturday, the craft market is open to everyone. Go and enjoy a full day of unique shopping experiences and visit the fabulous artists, designers, makers, and sewists who will feed your eyes with colour, texture, and genius!

Village Christmas Arts Faire

Location: Qualicum Beach Community Hall – 644 Memorial Avenue

This year marks the 39th consecutive year of the Original Village Christmas Art Faire in Qualicum Beach! All of the artists are very excited to be able to share their work at this event. It’s a small, yet wonderful venue packed full of talented local artisans.

Fanny Bay Christmas Craft Fair

Location: Fanny Bay Hall – 7793 Island Highway South, Fanny Bay

More than thirty-five tables will be full of quilting, baking, jewellery, woodworking, needlecrafts, etc.  If you’re looking for unique Christmas gifts this is the Fair to attend. Come early and stay for lunch, the food in the concession stand is delicious and reasonable too. The Fair is a great place to do some shopping, meet friends and neighbours, and get into in the Christmas spirit. A warm welcome to one and all!

November 22 – 25


Yellow Point Artisan Tour

Location: Various locations around Cedar and Yellow Point

When: November 22 – 25 from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm

A variety of amazing artisans and farms will be waiting to help you celebrate the Christmas season on this self-guided tour. As you drive around the area, look for the Cedar Yellow Point Artisan tour logo. There are 20 locations to shop from. Cost: This is a self-guided tour, so there is no admission.

Christmas Geek Market

Location: Courtenay Legion – 367 Cliffe Avenue, Courtenay

When: Friday, November 23rd from 4:00 – 9:00 pm

If you are looking for something SPECIAL for your favourite Geek…look no further than the Christmas Geek Market. The Comox Valley Geek Society has put together this special market with over 25 different vendors all related to some form of Geek.  Go and check it out, and while you are there get a picture (by donation) with your favourite guy…..Darth Vader! Donations can either be a toy for Santa’s workshop or a minimum $2 for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Vancouver Island.

Craft Fair at Dover Bay

Location: Dover Bay Secondary School – 6135 McGirr Road, Nanaimo

Start your Christmas shopping while supporting local artisans and the great kids of Randerson Ridge Elementary! All profits go to the Randerson Ridge Elementary PAC for books, gym equipment, field trips, etc.  There will be 80+ local vendors, a bake sale, raffle baskets, door prizes, and a concession on site.

Cost: $2.00 admission fee

Kids under 12 are FREE

Nanaimo Christmas Village

Location: German Cultural Centre – 71 Caledonia Avenue, Nanaimo

When: November 23 & 24 – 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Nanaimo’s original German Christmas Market, now in their 17th year. Go and check out some great local talent. Stock up on jams and maple syrup and indulge in traditional German baking. Find new glass Christmas ornaments, make a kid happy with some awesome wooden toys, and bring a smile to your loved one with some unique jewellery.

The kitchen will be serving traditional German sausages, sauerkraut, soup and pretzels. Coffee and tea are also available.

Christmas Extravaganza

Location: Quality Resort Bayside, 240 Dogwood St, Parksville

When: November 23 & 24 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Enjoy the 11th annual Christmas Extravaganza brought to you by the Oceanside Grandmothers to Grandmothers team. The cozy shopping atmosphere offers treasures galore! Choose from handmade crafts, jewellery, needle art, hostess gifts, baking, preserves and so much more. All net proceeds go to Stephen Lewis Foundation, so you give twice. There is plenty of parking.

Qualicum’s Winterfest Craft Fair is a Celtic themed event, full of live entertainment, a local artist showcase, Haggis Hunt for children and much more

This fair offers artisans who produce a wide range of high-quality products, from clothing and jewelry to art, clay and metal works, home decor, toys, children’s fashion, gourmet delicacies, and gifts. The organizers have added a dining area in front of the stage, so you can re-fuel to local musical entertainment without leaving the venue.

A portion of your entrance fee will go to one of three local community groups.

Cost: Tickets are $4.00 – enjoy a free cup of warm apple cider or hot chocolate, plus a shortbread cookie


NYC Christmas Craft Fair

Location: Nanaimo Yacht Club – 400 Newcastle Avenue, Nanaimo

When: Saturday, November 24 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Open to the public! NYC’s Annual Christmas Craft Fair, featuring local artisans and crafters. Parking available on Rosehill and Newcastle Avenue.

Cumberland WinterFaire

Location: The fair will be held in three buildings all within the same area

  • Cumberland Recreation Hall – 2665 Dunsmuir Avenue
  • The Cumberland Masonic Hall –  2687 Dunsmuir Ave
  • The Cumberland Museum and Archives – 2680 Dunsmuir Avenue

When: Saturday, November 24 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Cumberland WinterFaire features the exceptional talents of over 70 crafters and artists under three roofs; the Cumberland Recreation Hall, the Cumberland Masonic Hall, and the Cumberland Museum and Archives. Discover a variety of homemade, handmade, and fair trade goods – original fashions, paintings and prints, art cards, handmade local jewelry, toys and clothing for wee ones, functional pottery, wood products, delicious baked goods, herbal wellness products… and more!


A donation at any door gets you access to all three locations and the chance to win a basket of fabulous handmade products from WinterFaire vendors and items from the museum’s Company Store. As a fundraiser for the museum, this event provides a unique opportunity to buy local this holiday season while supporting a local charitable organization.


Deck the Hall Christmas Market

Christmas at the Lodge & Holiday Market

Location: Filberg Heritage Lodge & Park – 61 Filberg Road, Comox

When: November 24 & 25 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Prepare yourself for the holidays at the beautiful Filberg Heritage Lodge and Park. Join them for a classic Christmas in the Park and get your seasonal shopping done at the same time with a host of fine artists and gourmet gift ideas.

Power shop and bring the whole family to enjoy the food, festive treats, music, Christmas tree decorating and raffle prizes. Santa will also be stopping by!

Make sure to stay late to see the Park all lit-up.

Coombs Market

Location: Coombs Rodeo Grounds – 2601 Alberni Highway, Coombs

Featuring over 30 local vendors selling a wide variety of merchandise and services. Also being featured is delicious homemade food from the Pie Factory. All proceeds support the Workability Program in Oceanside.

Festival of Lights Craft and Artisan Fair

Location: Aggie Hall – 1110 First Avenue, Ladysmith

When: Thursday, November 29th from 3:00 – 9:00 pm

Before attending the Festival of Lights parade, head into Aggie Hall for their 12th annual Christmas Craft fair. The streets around Aggie Hall will be closed to traffic from 2:30 p.m. until well after the fireworks, so it’s the perfect time to shop till you drop!

Frank J Ney Craft Fair

Location: Frank J Ney Elementary School – 5301 Williamson Road, Nanaimo

When: November 30 – December 1

  • Friday, November 30 from 5:00 – 9:00 pm
  • Saturday, December 1 from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm

Enjoy 40 + vendors at this school fundraising craft fair. There will also be a concession with yummy treats and coffee for sale, as well as raffle basket tickets ($2.00 each).

Cost: Entry by donation! All proceeds will go to furthering the kids’ education needs at Frank J Ney.
Food bank donations will also be accepted for their annual food hamper.

Christmas Market 2018

Location: Wellington Hall – 3922 Corruna Avenue, Nanaimo

When: Saturday, December 1 from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm

It’s Christmas time at the Wellington Market & we are excited to bring you vendors from all over Vancouver Island for this fun-filled day.

Providence Farm Christmas Craft Fair

Location: Providence Farm – 1843 Tzouhalem Road, Duncan

On December 1st, Providence Farm will transform into a Winter Wonderland of community celebration. Bring the family and enjoy hayrides, pictures with Santa, music, a warm lunch and a bounty of local vendors sharing their unique products.

Black Creek Winter Market

Location: Black Creek Community Centre – 2001 Black Creek Road

When: December 1 & 2 – 10:00 am – 3:00 pm

Join the Black Creek community this holiday season for the newly named Black Creek Winter Market. Same market, new inspiration. The unique market is a popular destination for holiday shoppers with over 35 vendors, food and plenty of one-of-a-kind handcrafted goods and goodies.

The rustic country setting provides a cozy and relaxed atmosphere as you hunt for the perfect gifts for your loved ones.


This year, crews have coordinated with other local holiday markets, to create a map of 3 great markets, all on the same weekend. They promise that the adventure will be worth your while.

Vendors and shoppers alike enjoy the spacious hall, with wide aisles and good lighting for viewing the treasures on offer.  There is plenty of parking, and there will be food concessions on site.

New this year: there will be some new vendors each day, so visit twice!

Funds raised from the Craft Sale support activities at the Coombs Fairgrounds.

A Christmas Faire with Vintage Flair

Location: Qualicum Beach Community Hall – 644 Memorial Avenue, Qualicum Beach

Handmade for the Holidays

Location: Nanaimo District Secondary School – 355 Wakesiah Avenue, Nanaimo

The 3rd Annual Handmade for the Holidays Craft & Artisan Market. Featuring over 90 handmade vendors from all across Vancouver Island.

All proceeds from door donations and raffle tickets go directly to the foundation to help students-in-need in the district.

AGI Christmas Craft Fair

Location: Gabriola Community Hall – 2200 South Road

When: Saturday, December 8 from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm

The Gabriola Agricultural Association Co-operative invites you to their Christmas Craft Fair featuring 40 of your favourite local artists, bakers and crafters. Your best place for last minute Christmas gifts.

Don’t forget to enter for your chance to win the giant raffle basket (over $400 value)! All raffle prizes have been generously donated by our participating vendors.

Touch of Class Christmas Market

Location: Fireworx Glass Studio – 5333 Headquarters Road, Courtenay

When: December 8 & 9 from 10:00 am – 4:30 pm

In a lovely atmosphere, there will be Christmas decorations, preserves, fused glass, glass and silver jewelry, woodwork, cards, paintings, calendars, mobiles, pottery, photography, sewn, felted, handwoven and knitted items.

A large portion of the market, in true European style, will be devoted to continental baked goods.

Vancouver Island Market

This much anticipated Winter Market showcases over 200 of Vancouver Island’s local handmade artisans. Plus, there will be live entertainment, pop up stores, *workshops, and wine, craft beer and spirit sales which will provide shoppers with a unique opportunity to shop local for the holiday season.
