Vancouver Islanders sure know how to celebrate this glorious country we live in. And with this year being the 150th birthday of our great nation, the festivities are sure to be the grandest yet!

Victoria – Spirit of 150
A huge celebration that starts weeks before July 1!
Where: Inner Harbour
From June 21 through July 1, 2017, enjoy 11 days of free outdoor events in the beautiful Inner Harbour. For 11 days you can celebrate our nation and the city’s multicultural artistry while enjoying live entertainment, diverse food and beverage offerings. A spectacular fireworks display will be the grand finale on Canada Day (Saturday, July 1).
This family-friendly event will offer an exciting lineup of live music and entertainment.

Celebrate Canada Day with a piece of cake!
Where: Fort Rodd Hill and Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic Sites (603 Fort Rodd Hill Rd, Victoria)

Admission: FREE (cake is free too)
Canada Day’s biggest birthday cake is always served at Fort Rodd Hill and Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic Sites. Celebrate Canada’s special day and join the excitement. Clap your hands, or dance yourself silly to the live music throughout the day. Be a kid again, jump in and take part in all the fun activities. Enjoy the food and snacks at the concession, but remember to leave a bit of room for a piece of the HUGE cake.

Waterwheel Park sets the stage for this annual family-friendly event where there is a little something for everyone, no matter your age! Guest can enjoy a myriad of FREE activities and perks like tasty treats, a petting zoo’s, pony rides, a bouncy castle, games, live music and much more. All the events take place between 11 am – 3 pm, leaving lots of time for you to simply enjoy a day in the park dressed in red and white.

Enjoy one of the largest celebrations on Vancouver Island!
Where: Parksville Community Park
Time: 7:30 AM – 11:00 PM
The day’s festivities kick off with the Shriner’s Pancake Breakfast, parade, and family focused entertainment and activities. The day ends with the fabulous grand finale fireworks, sponsored by Thrifty Foods. Add in food trucks, concessions, artisan booths and fun rides for the kids, and it will be a full day of family fun.

- Parade (Pioneer Crescent to Parksville Community & Conference Centre) – 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Qualicum Beach amps up this year with a number of very special activities honouring the 150-year milestone.
The July 1st Celebrations begins with a Grand Parade and the unveiling of the Echo Theatre Mural along Second Avenue West, continuing down to the opening ceremonies at the Royal Canadian Legion on Veteran’s Way at noon.
Family oriented activities and musical entertainment will be active on Veterans Way all afternoon. Included is a Historical Walk Through Time in Qualicum Beach celebrating “Community Working Together” in the old Community Hall.

Port Alberni celebrates Canada 150 with a parade, multicultural activities, sporting event, food, performances AND a must-see firework extravaganza to close out the night!
Where: Alberni Harbour Quay (5440 Argyle Street)
Time: Starting at 10:00 am
The parade will start from Catalyst Mill and run along 3rd Ave all the way to Dunbar. So plan to park on 4th Ave and upwards to avoid being stuck. This will also be the route of the running event for the Tri-Conic Challenge so spectators will be able to watch both events.
Immediately following the Canada Day Parade, Alberni Harbour Quay will be abuzz with the Tri-Conic Challenge, vendors, activities and performances throughout the day.
The day will end with a beautiful display of fireworks (at approximately 10:30 pm).
